Girl In The Red Dress, the Chicago-based singer whose music has already generated a surge of interest across online music retailers and latex fetish fans alike, made a storming world debut as a live act in New York City on October 21st 2009.
Performing the three songs from the ‘Disguise’ EP, the Girl played as part of the Chashama Film Festival’s opening night festivities. The gig was the curtain raiser for a showing of the new movie ‘Dirty Step Upstage’, in which she appears.
Girl In The Red Dress sings dark-edged pop, setting themes of lost love and heartbreak against unstoppably infectious beats.
American indie sensation Ingrid Michaelson, whose album ‘Everybody’ is released in the UK on 19 October, 2009, will make a different track from the album available to fans every day until the release. The tracks each have a video introduction from Ingrid, and can be streamed from her ‘Ing TV’ widget below.
‘Everybody’ is Ingrid’s first UK release, and will be followed by the single “Maybe” on 16 November.
In the US, she has become probably the most successful unsigned artist in history. She has sold over 400,000 copies of her debut album out of her manager’s office, and her track “The Way I Am” was downloaded over 1.5 million times after being featured on an Old Navy commercial. She’s appeared on Good Morning America, Conan O’Brien and Jay Leno, and been on the cover of Billboard.

On Tuesday 27th October, 2009 she will also participate in a BBC ONE special – racing against time to raise money for Children In Need.
