Preview Event and London Fashion Week Party
in Association with The British Fashion Council

DIE FABRIK is on its way to being a global phenomenon and what better way to unveil the experience of this elite club/venue than during London Fashion Week.

The global spaces are due to open in London, New York and Zurich in 2010 and the kick-off to starting the buzz in London is set to happen on September 19, 2009 at a special party hosted by trendsetting Central London club/restaurant Vanilla.

Attending the event will be some of the most elite names in music, fashion and celebrity with music provided by a host of illustrious DJs including Jazzy B, Howie B, Normski and CJ Macintosh as well as surprise guests.

DIE FABRIK started its journey in New York’s Soho and its diverse events, a mix of lifestyle and culture have quickly become the talk of the city, realising its founders’ dreams of recapturing the feel of the artsy loft parties New Yorkers were so attracted to in the 70s and 80s.

Says co-founder Xavier Favre “This period was about more than going to parties to consume emptiness; it was about a lifestyle where ART was the driving force behind every aspect of life. The DIE FABRIK concept is bringing back all these elements and following in the footsteps of artists who marked this time.”

As the diversity and innovation DIE FABRIK celebrate are also the hallmarks that London Fashion Week is famous for, what better way of marking the beginning of one than with the imminent arrival of the other!

EVENT INFO

‘DIE FABRIK…it’s coming’ – Launch Party

Chica Chick launches the designer bag with a conscience

- What’s in your handbag?

As every girl knows, a handbag is more than just a fashion accessory – it’s a survival kit that holds all the little necessities you need to get through the day.

Now Chica Chick has taken this concept a step further with its brand new two-in-one designer bag, which comes complete with a pack of lifestyle essentials that – like the handbag itself – will make sure you’re ready to go anywhere, anytime.

But that’s not all. As well as secret pockets containing the essentials pack – three Fusion condoms, panty pad, tampon, mini toothbrush and toothpaste and deodorant – the Chica Chick bag conceals another useful innovation. Our unique patent-pending design means that it converts from a generous tote day bag to a cute, scrunchie grab-bag for the evening at the pull of a cord, making it two bags for the price of one.

Keith Murphy, managing director of Chica Chick, says he came up with the idea for a bag that encourages social awareness when he was recuperating in hospital after a kidney transplant. The donor was a woman.

“I was reading a newspaper and, among all the stories about the credit crunch, I noticed a headline about the rise of sexually transmitted infections among 15 to 25-year-olds. It got me thinking that, if you could come up with a fashionable and practical product that would appeal to young women, you might also be able to empower them to make responsible decisions, encourage safe sex and help prevent STIs,” he explains.

“My wife Cathy has experience in the fashion trade and she took this idea and converted it into a design for the Chica Chick bag. We wanted it to be an ethical product, so we sourced a supply chain with a properly audited manufacturer and only use a faux leather material that is biodegradable in 10 years. We think it shows that fashion doesn’t just have to be about looking good, it can tackle important social issues too.”

The Chica Chick bag will be launched officially on 5 October 2009 and is lovingly designed in the UK on the Sussex coast.

Featuring a funky signature patchwork style, it will initially be available in three colourways – pink mix, blue mix and multi. RRP is £35.

Special Two-Disc package available for pre-order at Hot Topic October 6, includes blank disc for free album download day of release, EP also on sale at all tour dates

Tooth & Nail/Virgin Records (EMI) rock band The Almost have created a Monster.

‘Monster Monster’ is the five-piece rock group’s sophomore album, the follow-up to 2007’s ‘Southern Weather’, which scored a #7 Modern Rock single in “Say This Sooner,” a slot on MTV’s prestigious Discover & Download program and a quarter-million in sales after debuting in the Top 40 on the Billboard Top 200 with 29k+.

Buy Music:

The Almost on amazon.com

Formed by Underoath drummer Aaron Gillespie along with guitarists Jay Vilardi and Dusty Redmon, bassist Alex Aponte and newest member, drummer Joe Musten, The Almost’s ‘Monster Monster’ represents the culmination of two years of touring, with the resulting disc a melding of the group’s individual talents into a truly collaborative effort. Before the release, The Almost will release a new video to fans, which will be followed by their lead anthemic rock single “Hands.”

The album is slated for release on November 3, 2009, but will be preceded by a Limited Edition special five-track EP entitled the Monster EP, featuring three album cuts and two B-sides. The EP will be available on October 6th exclusively at Hot Topic stores, the band’s website, as well as on the band’s upcoming tour.

The Monster EP will come in a special two-disc digi-pack, with a choice of five different covers.

In an unprecedented new model for music delivery, EMI and Hot Topic will offer this Limited Edition EP packaging, which includes one disc with the EP’s music and a second blank CD with Monster Monster’s full-length artwork, lyrics and printed track listing on the physical CD, but no music. Fans will be able to download every song through a special promotional code on the day of actual physical release, November 3, from ShockHound.com the MP3, merch and editorial site (www.ShockHound.com), which is a division of Hot Topic, Inc. The version streeting on Nov. 3 will not include the special five-cover packaging or the Limited Edition EP.

“We feel strongly that physical retail is still viable and important. We are using the highly successful instant gratification model proven in the digital world but putting our own spin on it and bringing it to 681 Hot Topic stores,” says Randy Nichols, manager of The Almost.

During the tour, the band will make stops at select Hot Topic stores for exclusive in-store performances and signings.

Gillespie, who played all the instruments on The Almost’s first album, is thrilled the way the group began to mesh on Monster Monster, and the band itself is raring to go out and play the new songs for their rabid, loyal fan base.

“This now feels like a real band,” he says. “Everyone gave up a piece of his own agenda for the good of the final result. And that’s how you end up with something special. They supplied the bricks and we built this house together.”

The Almost begin their own headlining tour September 23, 2009 at the State Theater in St. Petersburg, FL. through October 6 at SOMA in San Diego, CA, with The Used jaunt beginning the very next day, October 9, in Las Vegas.

“We plan on hitting it as hard as we can,” says Vilardi. “We’d like to leave and not come back for two years.”

The Almost 2009 Headlining Tour Dates:

Lauren Conrad

Punky Allsorts was created in January 2008 by musician Alayna Salter to meet the demand that was ignited by her music fans after she wore her stylish designs on stage at her gigs.

Alayna believes that every girl should have the opportunity to own something that is personally designed, individually handcrafted and that captivates their own imagination and personality.

Since the launch of Punky Allsorts, the range has attracted a celebrity following including chart topping singer Katy Perry, the Hilton sisters, Lady GaGa and Katy Perry to name a few! LA fashion store Kitson has also snapped up the quirky designs to stock in its uber trendy Robertson Boulevard boutique which has ensured the attention of the jewellery’s status as a must have among the Hollywood set.

Alayna’s unique jewellery has been hand-selected and made with precious materials with care and attention to detail to ensure that you will love them as much as she does!

Alayna’s story

Alayna’s first love is her music, and she’s already attracted a string of collaborations from the teams behind Disney’s High School Musical, Victoria Beckham and the Backstreet Boys. Alayna’s attitude comes candy coated and her music has been descibed as quirky rock with a feisty flavour.

Amazingly, Punky Allsorts was created after fans at her gigs asked Alayna where she got her great designs from. Realising the great potential the jewellery had, Alayna set about building on her designs and launched the brand in January.

She says “If you’re brave and have a great idea, use your initiative and just go for it. I wanted to create a young, fun brand that didn’t follow the rules of the more formal traditional trends and now the success of the jewellery is providing me with great opportunities to further my music career!”

The song has been tapped for a sexy new ad for “Body by Victoria” featuring top super models Marisa Miller, Alessandra Ambrosio, Emanuela de Paula and Lindsay Ellingson.

The commercial is directed by Victoria’s Secret super-director and two time MTV Video Music Award nominee Michael Bernard, and premiered on all major networks including cable.

The tongue in cheek song lends itself perfectly to the fun and sexy themes of one of the world’s hottest brands.

Victoria’s Secret Music Supervisor Vasili Gavre says, “Victoria’s Secret is really excited that they are the first to license an exclusive JET track in the U.S. before the release of the new album Shaka Rock at the end of August.”

“Victoria’s Secret continues to be one of the hottest brands with the hottest girls in the hottest ads and we couldn’t ask for JET’s first single to be partnered with a better concept for ‘She’s A Genius,’ – supermodels in their underwear,” said Allen Kovac, Manager of JET.

JET has just released their highly anticipated third studio album ‘Shaka Rock’ in the US and September 7, 2009 in the UK on their newly created Real Horrorshow Records/Five Seven Music with distribution through EMI Label Services.

‘Shaka Rock’ captures the charisma and energy of classic rock and roll with just enough punk swagger and contemporary flair to create something uniquely JET.

“She’s A Genius,” is already No 1 in Australia, top 5 in Canada and Japan and rising on the charts at multiple formats in the U.S, Germany, the UK and other territories worldwide.
