American indie sensation Ingrid Michaelson, whose album ‘Everybody’ is released in the UK on 19 October, 2009, will make a different track from the album available to fans every day until the release. The tracks each have a video introduction from Ingrid, and can be streamed from her ‘Ing TV’ widget below.

‘Everybody’ is Ingrid’s first UK release, and will be followed by the single “Maybe” on 16 November.

In the US, she has become probably the most successful unsigned artist in history. She has sold over 400,000 copies of her debut album out of her manager’s office, and her track “The Way I Am” was downloaded over 1.5 million times after being featured on an Old Navy commercial. She’s appeared on Good Morning America, Conan O’Brien and Jay Leno, and been on the cover of Billboard.

Her UK profile seems likely to rocket, with “Maybe” already receiving huge Radio 2 support and a London Scala show booked for 23 November. Ingrid has also written the track “Parachutes” for Cheryl Cole, which will be a future single from Cole’s debut album.

SYNOPSIS

Taking Woodstock is directed by Academy Award®-winner Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain) with a screenplay by James Schamus (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Ice Storm), based on the book Taking Woodstock by Elliot Tiber.

The film stars Demetri Martin (Important Things with Demetri Martin on Comedy Central) as Elliot Tiber, Emile Hirsch (Milk, Into the Wild), and Liev Schreiber (Defiance).

It’s 1969, and Elliot Tiber, a down-on-his-luck interior designer in Greenwich Village, New York, has to move back upstate to help his parents run their dilapidated Catskills motel, the El Monaco. The bank is about to foreclose; his father wants to burn the place down, but hasn’t paid the insurance; and Elliot is still figuring how to come out to his parents.

When Elliot hears that a neighboring town has pulled the permit on a hippie music festival, he calls the producers, thinking he could drum up some much needed business for the motel. Three weeks later, half a million people are on their way to his neighbor’s farm in White Lake, NY, and Elliot finds himself swept up in a generation-defining experience that would change his life, and American culture, forever.

“Dearest I’m So Sorry” is not the apology delivered by Kanye West to Taylor Swift after MTV’s 2009 VMAs. But it is the title track from the hot debut EP by PICTURE ME BROKEN, the band earning a VMA as MTV’s 2009 SF “Best Breakout Bay Area Artist,” made up of four 16 year-olds raising a ruckus in the City by the Bay.

While Picture Me Broken was not live on stage with Green Day, Beyonce, Muse or Taylor Swift at MTV’s 2009 VMAs, the MTV feature on this high energy young band landed them a hard earned award as the VMAs MTV’s 2009 “SF Best Bay Area Breakout Artist”. The award was sponsored by Our Stage and MTV.

Picture Me Broken which is fronted by LAYLA BROOKLYN ALLMAN, (the 16-year old daughter of legendary R&R Hall of Famer GREGG ALLMAN), and their song “Dearest (I’m So Sorry)” whose live video was featured on MTV2 has been blazing a trail with teen fans that can instantly relate to both the sentiment of the lyrics and the scorching delivery of the track.

The band started out as four 12-year olds playing covers for fun, but fueled by passion and determination, they have emerged as a serious contender.

Watch “Dearest I’m So Sorry” video:

“She’s got it in her blood…” remarks her famous father, who most likely is all but unknown to PMB’s growing legion of young fans!

PMB has played prestigious SF venues like “Bottom of the Hill,” grabbed an opening slot at the Shoreline Amphitheatre for Linkin Park’s Project Rev in 2008 and more recently played the 2009 SF Warped Tour.

Now they have just released their debut EP, DEAREST I’M SO SORRY.

As if reacting to the frightening state of the world they are growing up in, PICTURE ME BROKEN’S debut EP contains rites of passage themes, in the language of their peers.

Largely produced by Aveneged Sevenfold’s producer Mudrock (the title track was produced by Aaron Hellman at the Bay Area’s own Castle Ultimate Studios), the EP displays that it’s not only Layla Allman who’s talented, good-looking and charismatic, but the rest of the band members level the playing field: NICK LOIACONO (lead guitar), AUSTIN DUNN (bass) and CONNOR LUNG (drums).

Indeed, Picture Me Broken’s music all but redefines what will be expected from “kid bands” as there is nothing about PMB’s catchy driving rock that separates them from significantly more seasoned acts. Nothing shows this off more poignantly than the growing fan base on www.myspace.com/picturemebroken which continues to rave with surprise that there is a new band out there fronted by a “hot girl who can sing AND scream.”

Picture Me Broken will be featured on the front page of Purevolume.com on Sept 18, 2009 performing the first of many Hot Topic appearances on Sept 17th, and hosting an industry showcase in Los Angeles on October 16th 2009.

Artist Dain creates an economic diversion with his take on the 1940′s

Brooklyn born artist DAIN uses the platform for his first solo show to take us back to a time when life was simpler – the 1940’s. The good ol’ days as some might call them – New York City Style.

A time when words like cosmopolitan, elegant and modest, were a lot more relevant. A time when families spent the day on amusement rides at Coney Island and in the evening common folk mixed with celebrities in nightclubs like the Copacabana.

Watch video – I AM DAIN: A Follow Up:

The term “copasetic” meant that everything was fine and dandy. Even as war news dominated the headlines, a craving for fun and refuge abounded . . . a diversion. Much like today when the
economy looms large and America’s still at war, we too need a diversion. DAIN’s work and installations for “COPASETIC” will create just that.

Infusing the glamour and glitz of the 1940’s together with a Brooklyn working class edge, he seeks to turn back the hands of time – Even if we were never there before.

The song has been tapped for a sexy new ad for “Body by Victoria” featuring top super models Marisa Miller, Alessandra Ambrosio, Emanuela de Paula and Lindsay Ellingson.

The commercial is directed by Victoria’s Secret super-director and two time MTV Video Music Award nominee Michael Bernard, and premiered on all major networks including cable.

The tongue in cheek song lends itself perfectly to the fun and sexy themes of one of the world’s hottest brands.

“Victoria’s Secret continues to be one of the hottest brands with the hottest girls in the hottest ads and we couldn’t ask for JET’s first single to be partnered with a better concept for ‘She’s A Genius,’ – supermodels in their underwear,” said Allen Kovac, Manager of JET.

Actor Cambell Westmoreland is turning heads of big name Hollywood directors, and barely at thirteen years of age, he is set to show his wares again this summer in Robert Rodriguez’s new Warner Brothers film, Shorts.

Westmoreland’s role in Shorts places him alongside some of Hollywood’s top actors, such as William H. Macy, James Spader and Leslie Mann.

Watch Shorts movie trailer:

Premiered on August 15, 2009 and opening in theaters everywhere on August 21, 2009, Shorts has all the elements to be a huge critical and commercial success.

Westmoreland, well into his success as a child actor, has landed roles in films by prominent directors Richard Linklater (Before Sunrise, Dazed & Confused), Bryan Ortiz and now Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids, Sin City, Desperado).

Directors Rodriguez and Ortiz have praised Westmoreland, remarked that they really enjoyed working with him, were impressed with Westmoreland and his professionalism on the set, and has commented on how reliable the young actor was during filming.

Born in Moscow, Russia, Westmoreland now lives with his family in San Antonio, Texas. He’s already represented by one of IMDb.com’s top ten rated talent agencies, The Atherton Group. Growing up outside of Hollywood, Westmoreland enjoys all the normal stuff a kid his age likes to do. He loves playing sports and is the quarterback for his school’s football team.

Westmoreland’s diversity as an actor is already apparent from the variety of roles he’s played to the scope of projects he’s been involved in. His background includes commercials, theater and television, which has given him the experience and preparation for the growing fame in which his film career has brought him.

In 2006, critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Pete Yorn contacted actress and recording artist Scarlett Johansson with the idea to record a duets album in the spirit of Serge Gainsbourg’s 1960s recordings with Brigitte Bardot.

“I was having a strange week of insomnia and when I finally passed out, it came to me in a dream,” says Yorn. “I woke up and the whole thing was in my head, fully formed.”

Johansson was intrigued by Yorn’s out-of-the-blue invitation. “It sounded like an interesting little adventure,” she explains. “The idea of two people vocalizing their relationship through duets.”

The resulting work is released on September 7th 2009, Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson BREAK UP, a deeply emotive yet hook-filled song cycle about a tempestuous relationship. A free stream of “Relator” is currently available at www.thebreakupalbum.com.

‘Break Up’ includes eight original compositions by Yorn, ranging in tone from the lilting opener “Relator” to the disarming, retro/futuristic “I Don’t Know What to Do” to the climactic “Someday.” Completing the collection is a powerful interpretation of the art-rock classic “I Am the Cosmos” by the late Chris Bell, co-founder of quintessential cult band Big Star.

Produced by Sunny Levine, with Yorn and Max Goldblatt as executive producers, the album features contributions from guitarist Robert Francis; bassist Giuseppe Patane; and violinist Amir Yaghmai, with Goldblatt on banjo, synth bass and backing vocals, and Levine handling programming and mixing.

Predating Scarlett Johansson’s debut album, ‘Anywhere I Lay My Head’, by nearly two years; ‘Break Up’ was conceived and recorded in 2006, in Levine’s garage studio.

“I always thought of it as just a small project between friends,” explains Johansson. “I’ve loved the album ever since I heard it completed. It perfectly captured where I was in my life at the time.” Yorn was as protective of ‘Break Up’ as a father of his daughter, playing it for no one until last year.

When those close to him finally heard ‘Break Up’, the overwhelming response convinced Yorn that it was simply too strong a work to remain under lock and key.

Today I received my Ma Dame Rose ‘N’ Roll perfume (Limited Edition with pouch) by Jean Paul Gaultier.

Not only did I receive the perfume, but also the white headphones w/ MP3 player that you can see in the Ma Dame Rose ‘N’ Roll video campaign.

Initially viewers had to guess who the mystery guest was in the video. It took me a couple tries, but of course now I know that it’s French Producer / DJ Martin Solveig.

The song included with the headphones is the trendy “Boys & Girls” by Martin Solveig, and also features Dragonette.

Watch “Boys & Girls” video:

The Ma Dame Rose ‘N’ Roll perfume is magnificent!

Such a gorgeous scent – as described:

“Fresh and fluffy, with a delicious and malicious score.
On the A-side: a zest of tangy oranges and velvety rose petals with a heart of grenadine sweetness.
On the B-side, tenderness: cottony white musk and the soft caress of warm cedar.”
